EMCC requires high standards of ethics and competence for professionals in Coaching, Mentoring and Supervision, for training courses and for the Coaching, Mentoring and Supervision programs of organizations.

Respect for the Global Code of Ethics
As an association and as members, in our activities we observe the Global Code of Ethics signed by the main associations worldwide.

Competence framework
Each associate is required to respect and practice the international competency framework, which provides for:
1. Understanding of oneself
Demonstrate awareness of one’s values, opinions, and behaviors; recognize/become aware of how these influence one’s work and use this self-awareness to manage one’s effectiveness in achieving the client’s and, when relevant, the sponsor’s goals.
2. Commitment to developing one's own skills/capabilities
Explore and improve the level of one's activities and maintain a high reputation for the profession.
3. Contract management
Establish and maintain expectations and respect the limits of the mentoring/coaching contract with the client and, when appropriate, with the sponsor.
4. Construction of the report
Use all of your skills to build and maintain an effective relationship with the client and, when appropriate, with the sponsor.
5. Facilitation of understanding and learning
Working with the client and the sponsor to make vision and learning effective.
6. Orientation towards action and results
Use approaches and skills/competencies to support the client in achieving the desired changes
7. Use of models and techniques
Apply models and tools, techniques, and ideas based on fundamental communication skills to achieve vision and learning.
8. Evaluation
Gather information on the effectiveness of its own activities and contribute to developing and consolidating a culture of evaluating results.
Continued professional development
Each associate is required to continuously update their professional skills.
