From the principles of the Statute to the rules of everyday life
The Regulation implements the Statute and translates its principles into concrete operational rules: organization, procedures, and practical aspects of associative life, always in compliance with what the Statute provides.
The same applies to everyone: ordinary members and supporters, Schools and Associated Organizations. Knowing and respecting it is part of being a member of EMCC Italy.
The Regulation starts from part to part
The Regulations are a living document, changing with the association and being updated as the organization evolves. Here you find the current text, organized into nine Parts plus the annexes. Click on the Part you are interested in to go directly to the paragraph.

Operational processes
Premise
This Regulation was first approved by the Governing Council, pursuant to Article 7.3 of the Statute, on 27 May 2021. Subsequently, periodic changes have been made in line with the evolving needs of the association’s development and organization.
Following the statutory amendments approved by the Board of Directors on April 27, 2026 and by the Shareholders’ Assembly on April 28, 2026, the Regulations have been reorganized into a new structure, aimed at facilitating and transparent consultation, section by section.
PART 1 — General provisions
1.1 Purpose and scope of the Regulation
This Regulation governs the organization and functioning of EMCC Italia, in implementation of the Statute. It specifies the bodies, roles, processes, and operational rules, constituting the application reference for associative life.
The Regulations apply to Members and Associates, Affiliates, Volunteers and Volunteers, Schools and Associated Organizations, as well as to all associated bodies (Executive Board, top-level positions, Committees, Teams, Executive Committee and Board of Probiviri). It is binding on all recipients in the same way.
Failure to comply with the provisions of this Regulation may, in the most serious cases and in accordance with the procedures provided for, result in expulsion from the association, in accordance with the Statutes and as governed by Part 6.
1.2 Relationship between Statute and Regulation
The Regulations are subordinate to the Statute: in case of conflict, the Statute prevails. The Regulations are approved and modified by the Board of Directors in accordance with Article 7.3 of the Statute.
1.3 General principles
EMCC Italia bases its operations, at all levels, on the voluntary contribution of those who are part of it. The association does not employ staff; any specialized expertise not available in-house is activated through professional service contracts or letters of assignment.
All persons elected or appointed to associative roles defined by the Statute are considered as Volunteers and Volunteers, to whom are added those who offer their contribution within the Committees, Teams and other working groups.
1.4 Language of the Regulation
This Regulation adopts inclusive language. Where possible, it prefers neutral formulations referring to functions and bodies rather than to individuals; where this is not possible without compromising the clarity of the regulations, it uses both masculine and feminine forms. The designations of organs and positions adopted in the Statute are retained in the form provided therein and are intended to refer indiscriminately to all genders.
1.5 Version registration and updates
Each part of the Regulations lists the date of the approval decision and subsequent amendments. The complete record of versions is maintained in Part 9 and updated by the Secretariat and Treasurer Team.
PART 2 — Members, Associates and Affiliates
2.1 Categories and admission requirements
EMCC Italia distinguishes two participatory modes, as provided for by the Statute: that of a Member or Member and that of a Subscriber.
Partner and Partner. Natural and legal persons who professionally practice coaching, mentoring or supervision in Italy and have paid the membership fee and are in good standing with the registration may be associated with the qualification of Member or Associate. Members and Associates participate in the associative life and have the right to vote on matters for which the voting of the associated persons is required.
Attentive. Natural and legal persons who, although not professionally practicing coaching, mentoring or supervision, are interested in deepening their knowledge of these disciplines may join as Affiliates. Those who join are entitled to participate in EMCC Italia activities, but do not have the right to vote, are not eligible to elect the Board of Directors and cannot be a member thereof. They do not become part of the members of EMCC Global.
To join or become a member, you must submit an application in accordance with the procedures prescribed by the Board of Directors, accompanied by proof of payment of the membership fee. The Board of Directors examines the application and decides on admission, with the right to not approve an enrollment or renewal within sixty (60) days of the request. The procedures for joining or becoming a member are also listed on the emccitalia.it website.
2.2 Rights and duties of Members, Associates and Affiliates
Duties
Members, Associates and Affiliates are required to comply with: this Regulation; the Statute; the Global Code of Ethics; the diversity and inclusion policy of EMCC; the guidelines on the use of the EMCC and EMCC Italia trademarks and logos; all rules, regulations and provisions issued by the Board of Directors; the professional and quality standards of EMCC. Members and Associates are also required to renew their registration at the appropriate time and, if requested, to undergo an examination of ethical and deontological conduct.
Rights
Members and Associates have the right to vote actively and passively, to participate in volunteering as provided for by this Regulation, and to participate in webinars, events, and initiatives of the association. Those who are associated with EMCC Italy are also associated with EMCC Global and have access to the corresponding qualifications.
Affiliated individuals have the right to participate in volunteering — with the exception of the Board of Directors, who are not eligible to participate — and to participate in the association’s webinars and events. They do not have the right to vote and do not participate in the Assemblies.
The EMCC Italia website only lists members who hold a qualification, who may advertise their membership using the wording provided in section 2.4, in a similar way to what is established for Schools and Organizations.
2.3 Associate membership, renewal and termination
The membership fees are set by the Board of Directors and are valid for three hundred and sixty-five (365) days from the date of registration. Renewal must be completed by the due date to maintain the status of member; in case of non-payment, services and rights are suspended until the matter is resolved.
The quotas are non-transferable, non-revalued or non-transferable, even in the event of death. In the event of resignation, suspension or expulsion, no amount paid to the association will be returned.
In the event of expulsion from the association for violations, the paid fees are not refunded and the person concerned is required to remove any reference to EMCC and EMCC Italia from their public channels.
2.4 Use of the EMCC and EMCC Italia name and logo
Membership in EMCC Italy is open to anyone interested in mentoring, coaching and supervision; for this reason, membership cannot be equated with any form of professional qualification.
Anyone wishing to advertise their membership must use the following wording in its entirety: “I am a member of EMCC and I adhere to the Global Code of Ethics (see emccglobal.org)”. Alternatively, you can replace “EMCC” with “EMCC Italia” and add the website www.emccitalia.it.
It is possible to add the EMCC logo to the declaration or to use it separately, provided that it is clear that the logo is used as a reference to the EMCC website and not as recognition by the EMCC of the professional qualification of the associated person or their services. These options apply to natural persons.
Organizations (companies, academic institutions, associations) are entitled to use the name and/or logo of EMCC only if they can guarantee that anyone working on their behalf — employees, collaborators, associates — adheres to the Global Code of Ethics. In such a case, the statement to be used is: “*Name of the organization* is a member of EMCC and its coaches, mentors, and supervisors adhere to the Global Code of Ethics (see emccglobal.org or www.emccitalia.it)”.
2.5 MIMIT Professional Qualification Certificates
Anyone who holds the Professional Qualification Certificate, recognized by MIMIT and issued by EMCC Italia under Law 4/2013, may declare that they “hold the Professional Qualification Certificate for services pursuant to Law 4/2013 issued by EMCC Italia”.
2.6 EMCC Global individual qualifications (EIA, ITCA, IPMA, ESIA)
Only those who have received the qualification from EMCC Global can declare that they possess the EIA qualification (or ITCA, IPMA, ESIA) awarded by EMCC and use the corresponding logo issued by EMCC Global.
- EIA (European Individual Accreditation): qualifies for individual coaching and mentoring;
- ESIA (European Supervision Individual Accreditation): qualification for supervision;
- IPMA (Individual Programme Manager Accreditation): qualification for the design, management and evaluation of internal and external mentoring programs;
- ITCA (Individual Team Coach Accreditation): qualification for team coaching.
The correct wording is “holding an EIA (or ITCA or IPMA or ESIA) qualification”. Out of respect for Italian regulations, the words “accreditation” and “certification” are not allowed. Anyone who does not hold an EMCC qualification can only describe themselves as “member, member of, associate of EMCC and I adhere to the Global Code of Ethics”.
2.7 Qualifications of the EMCC Global training courses (EQA, ESQA, PMQA, TCQA, ISMCP)
Only training courses from Schools and Organizations that have received the qualification from EMCC Global can declare possession of the relevant qualification and use the logo issued by EMCC Global.
- EQA: qualifying paths for individual coaching and mentoring;
- ESQA: qualifying courses for supervision;
- PMQA: qualifying courses for the Design, management and evaluation of internal and external coaching and mentoring programs;
- TCQA: qualifying paths for team coaching;
- ISMCP: issued to companies and organizations that have implemented coaching and mentoring projects and programs within their organization that meet certain qualifying criteria.
The correct wording is: “Course/programme holding qualification, or qualified (EQA or ESQA or PMQA or TCQA or ISMCP). Upon completion of the course/programme, upon meeting the minimum criteria, a certificate will be issued.” This article refers to the document «Your complete guide to how to use our Accreditation Awards logos and EMCC name» issued by EMCC Global.
PART 3 — Internal organization
3.1 Overall organizational framework
EMCC Italia bases its operations, at all levels, on the voluntary contribution of those who are part of it. The association does not employ staff; any specialized expertise not available in-house is activated through professional service contracts or letters of assignment. All persons elected or appointed to associative roles defined by the Statute are considered Volunteers and Volunteers, alongside those who offer their contribution within the Committees, Teams, and other working groups.
The internal organization of EMCC Italia is divided into the following bodies and structures.
Institutional bodies, provided for by the Statute
- Meeting of the Shareholders;
- Executive Board, with its respective top-level positions (President, Vice-President, Secretary General);
- Executive Committee, if constituted by the Presidency pursuant to section 3.4;
- College of Probiviri.
Operational committees, composed of members of the Governing Board and volunteers
- Qualifications Committee; School and Organization Committee; Society Committee; Ethical Committee; Research and Development Committee; Volunteer Committee.
Operational teams
- Team Marketing, Communication and Events; Team Secretariat and Treasury.
Support resources
- Technological support (Digital Assistant and IT consulting), pursuant to section 3.13; any external consultants and consultants engaged based on specific needs.
Each Committee or Team is chaired by a Head or Head of Department, a member of the Board elected by the Assembly specifically for that function, pursuant to section 3.3. The person holding this role ensures alignment with the directives and decisions of the Board and is required to appoint, within two (2) months of taking office, a Deputy Head to provide support in the day-to-day management and replacement in the event of absence or impediment.
Each Committee or Team designates within its own organization a contact person for the people associated with it, responsible for answering questions, providing operational guidance, and collecting suggestions. All contact points interact with the Committee’s Soci Representative, who oversees the overall management of relations with Members and Associates and ensures their tracking and consistency. The organizational structure is represented in an updated organization chart, maintained by the Secretariat and Treasury Team in accordance with section 3.12.1.
3.1.1 Budget limits and approval
In accordance with Article 8.1 of the Statute, the powers of expenditure are structured as follows:
- up to 1,000 euros: the Treasury and/or the Presidency can operate independently;
- from 1,001 to 5,000 euros: the joint signature of the Treasury and the Presidency is required;
- over 5,000 euros: the prior approval of the Governing Council is required.
3.2 Governing Council — structure and functioning
The Board of Directors is composed of a minimum of five (5) to a maximum of fifteen (15) members, including the positions of President and Vice President. Each member is elected or appointed by the Assembly and remains in office for three (3) years, renewable only once in the same role, except for resignation, termination, revocation, removal, or other cause of termination provided for by the Statute or the Regulations.
The Board of Directors manages the Association and has the organizational and administrative direction, as well as the responsibility of overseeing finances and activities. It exercises its authority regarding the policies, services, programs, and budgets of all organizational units of the Association. Each member, with the exception of the positions of President, Vice President, and Secretary General, chairs a Committee. The procedures for convening, quorum, and deliberation are governed by the Statute and are referred to in section 7.2.
3.3 Process of appointment of the members of the Board of Directors
This paragraph governs, in implementation of Article 7.15 of the Statute, the process of appointment and election of the members of the Board of Directors of EMCC Italia.
3.3.1 Roles involved in the process
Nomination Committee. Independent evaluation body. It receives the profile of the position from the General Secretariat, reviews the applications received, conducts interviews with the eligible candidates and transmits the applications deemed suitable to the Board of Directors, with any comments and recommendations.
Board of Directors. Identifies the vacant positions within its own scope, defines the profile of the position in agreement with the General Secretariat, examines the applications submitted by the Nominations Committee with the right to not approve one or more of them, and submits the applications deemed valid to the Assembly.
General Secretariat. It carries out the administrative coordination of the entire process: it monitors the deadlines for the mandates of all members of the Board of Directors and the Nominations Committee; initiates the process at least four (4) months before the expiration date or within fifteen (15) days of a vacation; drafts the profile in agreement with the Board of Directors; transmits it to the Nominations Committee and disseminates it to Members; collects the nominations and transmits them to the Nominations Committee; maintains operational contacts throughout the duration of the process; manages any recycling; convokes the Assembly for the election.
Assembly. Elects the new or the new member of the Board of Directors from among the nominations submitted by the Board of Directors. The election can also take place remotely, in accordance with Article 6.8 of the Statute.
3.3.2 Nominations Committee — composition and functioning
The Nominations Committee does not constitute a position and is not part of the organization: it performs a function that intervenes upon call, as needed.
The Nominations Committee is composed of a number of members ranging from 3 to 6, selected in order of priority from: (1) those who have held the positions of President, Vice President or Secretary General of EMCC Italia; (2) in suborder, those who have been part of the Board of Directors and have recently ceased their duties. In all cases, it is necessary to have continuously maintained membership in EMCC Italia from the termination of the position until the date of participation in the Committee.
If there are not enough candidates in the first category, the process continues to the next categories until a minimum of three (3) members are selected. The selection among more people from the same category gives priority to those who have left their post most recently.
Participation in the Nominations Committee is for a three-year term, with the possibility of renewal. The General Secretariat annually verifies the composition and any need for integration, formalized by the Presidency. The Nominations Committee identifies within itself who will assume the coordination pro tempore, with also the functions of a secretariat; the nominee is communicated to the Board of Directors and to the General Secretariat.
Conflicts of interest
If a member of the Nominations Committee has a real or potential conflict of interest with respect to one or more candidates, they are required to promptly inform the person who coordinates the Committee and recuse themselves from evaluating the candidate in question. The coordination committee acknowledges this and, if necessary, considers the possibility of temporarily replacing the Committee.
Confidentiality
The Nominations Committee operates under a principle of full confidentiality. The assessments, arguments, and information that emerge during its internal meetings and during interviews with the candidates are confidential and may not be disclosed outside the Committee, except to the Board of Directors, to whom the Nominations Committee may report at any time and without limitations.
The confidentiality agreement may be suspended only in the presence of specific and documented reasons, subject to the explicit authorization of the Board of Directors. In no case may the suspension be initiated autonomously by the Nominations Committee or by any of its members.
3.3.3 Requirements for candidacy
Those who apply must:
- to be a member or member of EMCC Italia in good standing with the registration and to commit to maintaining it for the entire duration of the term, in case of election;
- having obtained the EIA qualification, of any level;
- have carried out volunteer work at EMCC Italia for a period of not less than twelve (12) months; in addition, be an active member for at least two (2) years;
- preferably having previous experience in the area of responsibility (Committee or Team) that they will be taking on;
- recognize and avoid any conflicts of interest with their professional activities;
- contribute to the mission of EMCC Italy in compliance with the Statute;
- be able to interact in an international context.
3.3.4 Cases in which the process is activated
- End of the three-year term of a member of the Board of Directors. The General Secretariat initiates the process no later than four (4) months before the expiration date.
- Vacation of office for resignation, removal, revocation, removal or other cause of early termination. The General Secretariat initiates the process within fifteen (15) days of the occurrence of the vacancy. In the meantime, the Presidency assigns the management of the vacant role to an interim member of the Board of Directors, ensuring operational continuity. The interim assignment can be granted to any member of the Board of Directors deemed suitable, including the positions of President, Vice President and Secretary General. The assignment is formally communicated by the Presidency to the entire Board of Directors.
- Term of office or vacation of a top-level position (President, Vice-President, Secretary General). The Board of Directors proceeds preliminarily to the internal election of the vacant top-level position among its members, in accordance with section 3.3.5. This thus vacates the position already held by the person who was elected: the Presidency is temporarily assigned to another Board member and the Secretariat General immediately begins the nomination process.
- The establishment of a new Committee was decided by the Board of Directors. The General Secretariat immediately starts the process of searching for the candidate for the new role.
3.3.5 Election of President, Vice President and Secretary General
The positions of President, Vice President and General Secretary are elected by the Board of Directors within its own ranks. Only those members who have been members of the Board of Directors for a period of at least twelve (12) months may run for these positions.
The three-year term of office for the top positions begins on the date of the respective election to office, regardless of the date of entry into the Board of Directors.
The term of office is three (3) years from election, renewable for another three (3) years in the same top-level position. After that term, it is possible to remain on the Board of Directors in a different position, subject to the usual appointment process. In the event of a candidacy for the same top-level position, the Board of Directors is responsible for deliberating on the candidacy.
3.3.6 Operational mode of the appointment process
Initiation and preparation
The General Secretariat informs the Nominations Committee of the start of the process; drafts the profile of the vacant position in agreement with the Board of Directors; transmits the profile to the Nominations Committee and disseminates it to members who meet the requirements.
Selection by the Nominations Committee
The Nominations Committee, with the administrative support of the General Secretariat: collects the submitted candidacies; verifies the possession of the required qualifications; may liaise with the Volunteers Committee to acquire elements useful for evaluating the volunteer activity carried out, as well as for any other contribution the Volunteers Committee deems appropriate to provide; convenes for an interview all the candidates who meet the requirements; expresses an individual and summary assessment on each candidate admitted to the interview; transmits to the Executive Board the candidacies positively evaluated, in a number between two (2) and four (4), accompanied by observations and recommendations.
Examination by the Board of Directors
The Board of Directors examines the nominations with the right to not approve one or more; if the approved nominations are less than two (2), it requests the Nominations Committee to repeat the process; once at least two (2) valid nominations are received, it forwards them to the General Secretariat for convening the Assembly.
Presentation of candidacies and convocation of the Assembly
The General Secretariat provides candidates with instructions for drafting the personal presentation sheet. The sheet includes: a written profile with professional biography and reasons for candidacy; a short presentation video; the link to a LinkedIn profile or other public professional profile; and any additional useful materials. The General Secretariat convenes the Assembly (in person or remotely), attaching the profiles.
Election
The Assembly elects the new or the new member of the Board of Directors, who takes office with effect from the date of election. The votes can be cast in digital mode, through online voting platforms. The Board of Directors establishes from time to time the operational procedures, including the duration of the voting period, which may remain open for a maximum of three (3) days.
Process review and interim management
If the process does not produce a positive outcome — due to the unavailability of suitable candidates, failure to reach the minimum number, or any other reason — the process is repeated until completed. There is no maximum number of repetitions: the Nominations Committee repeats the process as many times as necessary until suitable candidates are identified. At each repetition, the General Secretariat, in agreement with the Steering Board, re-activates the Nominations Committee, updates the profile where necessary, and ensures a new dissemination.
For the entire duration of the process — including any possible re-appointments — the vacant role remains covered by a member of the Executive Board appointed ad interim by the Presidency. The ad interim can be attributed to any member of the Executive Board, without exceptions: even the positions of President, Vice President and Secretary General may assume an ad interim role in addition to their regular responsibilities, if the Presidency deems it appropriate. The objective is to ensure that no role remains uncovered, regardless of the duration of the process. The ad interim holder exercises the functions of the role in all respects, until the election by the Assembly.
3.3.7 Change of role for those already in office
If a member of the Board of Directors requests to fill a role other than that assigned — including the change of chaired or coordinated Committee — the assignment of the new role is subject to the same procedure as provided for in this paragraph, with the activation of the Nominations Committee and subsequent election by the Assembly.
3.3.8 Limits on terms of office and re-election
Members of the Board of Directors may hold the same role for a maximum of two consecutive terms of three (3) years each (total: six years). Subsequently, it is possible to apply for a different role, subject to the usual appointment process. In the event of re-election in the same position, the entire appointment process is followed.
3.3.9 Reasons for withdrawal from the Board of Directors
Pursuant to Article 7.14 of the Statute, a member of the Board of Directors resigns from their position in the following cases:
- Unexcused absences: after two (2) unexcused absences at Board meetings during a year. Absences due to illness or injury are considered justified; unavoidable medical visits, whether of the individual or family members; other serious personal reasons documented and assessed at the discretion of the Presidency.
- Deliberate removal: by a vote of three-quarters (3/4) of the Board of Directors, in a meeting specifically convened for this purpose, for failure to comply with statutory, ethical, and deontological rules. The person concerned is provided with written notice at least ten (10) days in advance, with clear reasons, and the possibility to be heard and/or to submit written communications.
- Voluntary resignation: notified in writing to the Presidency, which takes note of it within five (5) days.
- Term of the three-year term, pursuant to Article 7 of the Statute.
3.3.10 Mentoring for those who succeed
Each member of the outgoing Board of Directors — regardless of the reason for the termination of their position — is required to make themselves available to the successor for a period of six (6) months from the termination, to the minimum of two (2) hours per month, at the request of the successor. The activity is voluntary and unpaid and aims to ensure the operational and institutional continuity of the role; the modalities (in person or remotely) are agreed upon between the parties. The General Secretariat monitors the initiation of the mentoring and formally communicates this to both parties within ten (10) days of the election.
3.3.11 Transitional rule
The members of the current Board of Directors remain in office for three (3) years from the date of their respective election, in their currently assigned roles. The deadlines are monitored by the General Secretariat, which prepares a calendar of appointment processes to be initiated in the next three years and submits it to the Board of Directors within sixty (60) days of the approval of this Regulation. Any changes in the role of those in office follow the new rules.
In the case of the first application of this Regulation, the Management Board has the discretion to grant a derogation from the seniority requirements set out in section 3.3.3, if no available candidate fully meets them. The derogation is decided by the Management Board, after consulting the Nominations Committee, and is of an exceptional and reasoned nature. This discretion shall expire one (1) year after the publication of this Regulation.
This paragraph shall automatically lapse on April 28, 2029, three (3) years after the entry into force of the amendments to the Statute governing the matter, subject to revisions or modifications that have occurred in the meantime.
3.4 Executive Committee
The Executive Committee is an optional organ, which the Presidency is authorized to establish whenever it deems necessary to ensure greater effectiveness in the operational coordination of the association. It is composed of the positions of President, who presides over it, Vice President and General Secretary; the Presidency may extend the composition to other members of the Board of Directors. It operates within the powers of the Presidency; decisions that exceed this scope are submitted to the approval of the Board of Directors or are taken by delegation. The members of the Executive Committee are part of the elected members of the Board of Directors. The constitution and possible dissolution are formally communicated by the Presidency to the entire Board of Directors.
3.5 Volunteer Committee
The Volunteer Committee is composed of the Executive Committee (if established) and those who are responsible for the Committees and Teams. It is responsible for:
- verification, necessity and balancing of positions to cope with the organization of EMCC Italy as a whole;
- definition of the characteristics and competences required from Volunteers;
- the search, selection and appointment of Volunteers based on the criteria set out in the previous paragraph, using the job posting process described below.
Job posting process
- identifies the positions, new or replacement ones for vacation, on which to publish an internal job posting;
- in the event of a new position, communicate the change to the Secretariat for subsequent updating of the organizational chart;
- drafts, together with those responsible for the relevant committee, the details of the position;
- Drafts the job posting and sends it to the Marketing and Communications Team for publication to all registered people;
- receives applications from members and selects them, and proceeds to the necessary contacts and interviews;
- the person who coordinates the relevant Committee, in agreement with the coordination of the Volunteer Committee, selects the valid candidate or candidates, who are placed on trial for a period of at least four (4) months;
- ensures the immediate signing of the agreement between EMCC Italy and the volunteer and the code of conduct prepared by EMCC Italy;
- At the end of the trial period, which was positive, it definitively confirms the volunteer's commitment.
Address and management of volunteer staff
The Volunteer Committee also oversees the address and management of Volunteers through: regular meetings of the Committee; regular meetings with the coordinator; alignment meetings with all volunteer staff; and management of the reward system for special achievements.

It is responsible for contact and ongoing relationship with Members and Associates. Main activities include: responding to questions, requests, and issues, if necessary by referring to specialized figures; maintaining oversight and tracking; managing renewal activities, with reminders and recalls in case of failure to confirm; identifying emerging needs and useful services through active listening. 3.10 Research and Development Committee
Its task is to promote the creation, sharing, and application of knowledge in the areas of coaching, mentoring, and supervision. The main areas of intervention include: the coordination and enhancement of those who perform the function of Focal Point; the promotion and support of the Practice Communities; the activation and support of the Research and Development Workshops, temporary project teams oriented towards the production of concrete outputs (events, publications, models, tools). The Research and Development Committee also performs the functions already assigned to the Technical-Scientific Commission, according to the new organization of the association (see section 4.3).
3.11 Team Marketing, Communication and Events

It also oversees, at the administrative level, the job posting processes: for the Governing Board according to section 3.3; for volunteering by assisting the Volunteers Committee in the acceptance of new positions and in maintaining a uniform standard. It relies on the Technology Support Resources (section 3.13) for the production of reports and data extraction.
3.13 Technological support resources
EMCC Italia relies on resources dedicated to technological support for the proper functioning of its information systems, the associative platform, and digital tools. These resources currently consist of: a Digital Assistant role, operational support for site maintenance and updates, technical support for communication tools, and platform management; external IT consulting with development and programming expertise, activated for specialist interventions, system integrations, and digital development projects. Both operate in conjunction with the Secretariat and Treasury Team. The forms of collaboration (voluntarily or on a contractual basis) may vary over time; the Board of Directors decides on them.
PART 4 — Oversight bodies and special roles
4.1 College of Probiviri
The Board of Auditors is elected and appointed by the Governing Board. It may consist of a minimum of one member, with a substitute member, and a maximum of three members, with three substitutes. The position of a member of the Board of Auditors is incompatible with membership in the association, and no member may be a member of the Governing Board.
The College of Probiviri ensures that the persons associated and the other statutory bodies comply with the statutory rules and resolves any disputes that may arise between the associated persons, between them and the social bodies, or between them and third parties, excluding those that by law or statute belong to other adjudicating entities. It operates in complete independence and is solely responsible to the Assembly; although it does not answer to the Board of Directors, it periodically reports to it on its activities.
The Board acts on its own initiative or upon referral, examines and adjudicates in an impartial, ad hoc and non-formal manner, submitting its judgment to the Board of Directors, which adopts the appropriate implementing measures. The person concerned is guaranteed the right of defense in the proceedings.
The Presidency and the Vice Presidency, also upon the recommendation of the members of the Board, identify the candidates in accordance with the requirements of the Statute and submit them to the approval of the Board of Directors and subsequently to the ratification of the Assembly.
4.2 Local Ambassador
The Board of Directors, on the proposal of the Presidency, can elect and appoint Local Ambassadors. The Local Ambassador does not constitute a position and is not part of the organization: it performs a function that intervenes upon call, as needed.
Whoever holds this function must be regularly registered as a Member or Member for the entire period of the assignment and remains in office, unless resigning, until the end of the three-year term of the Board of Directors, at which time he/she must be formally confirmed or confirmed by the incoming Board of Directors.
Each Local Ambassador presides over a specific territory or professional segment, with the aim of enhancing the image of EMCC Italy and the associative base within the assigned area. To this end, he/she may organize meetings or events, using, if necessary, a budget approved by the Board of Directors. He/she maintains a constant contact with the members and potential members of the assigned area and with the Board of Directors, through a delegated member and the Presidency.
4.3 Technical-Scientific Commission
The Technical-Scientific Commission, foreseen by the previous organization of the association, is no longer an autonomous body. According to the new organization, the functions already assigned to it are carried out by the Research and Development Committee (section 3.10), which gathers its expertise in the field of knowledge development and the safeguarding of technical and scientific aspects in the areas of coaching, mentoring, and supervision.
PART 5 — Schools and Associated Organizations
5.1 Categories of Schools and Admission Requirements
Schools and Organizations are corporate entities or professional practices that join EMCC Italia in a collective form, sharing values and professional standards. The criteria for reference for Schools and Organizations are defined in the’Annex B — Criteria for Schools and EMCC Italy Organizations, which constitutes the binding reference in this matter.
Schools are professional and/or corporate entities that offer training courses in coaching, mentoring, and supervision aimed at end clients. They fall into two types.
Schools «Registered»
These are the Schools that are admitted following the satisfaction of a twofold prerequisite:
- Analogical prerequisite: the School answers a qualitative questionnaire on its principles and values, on the percentage of time dedicated to practical exercises, on the integration of supervision, on the selection criteria for those who train, on the monitoring and assessment tools for skills, on compliance with ethical standards, on the updating of programs, on the protection of client autonomy, on the distinction between coaching and other professions, and on its history; for supervision schools, also on the criteria for accepting those who enroll in the courses.
- Digital prerequisite: Coaching schools must have at least one Trainer Coach qualified as a Senior Practitioner and one as a Practitioner. The same requirement applies to mentoring schools and those for the role of internal Project Manager. For Supervision schools, those performing the function of Trainer must be ESIA Supervisors.
Schools «Q»
It is the Schools that possess at least one training program qualified by EMCC Global. For them, the criteria established by EMCC Global apply, without the need for further national decisions, while constant control is maintained on compliance with the rules for the Qualification, the presence of ESIA Supervisors and EIA Trainers.
Schools not falling into either of the two types
Schools that do not fall into any of the two categories can still request a package of five (5) individual enrollments on preferential terms.
Organizations
The Organizations share the values and objectives of EMCC Italia, although they have their own identities and purposes. They will be grouped into three categories: Service Companies; Aggregators; and Companies (for-profit or non-profit). Entities that offer training courses and programs for coaches, mentors, and supervisors are excluded from the category of Organizations, which must fall under the category of Schools.
The procedures for the registration of Schools and Organizations are listed on the emccitalia.it website.
5.2 Quotes, rights and services included
The registration fees for Schools and Organizations are set by the Board of Directors. Registration is valid for one year, to be understood as three hundred and sixty-five (365) days from the date of registration.
Different services are reserved for each type, as follows:
- Schools «Registered»: visibility on the EMCC Italia website through a dedicated and agreed page; a package of up to five (5) individual registrations; participation as speakers at the Toolbox (already known as Talk); the use of the affiliation logo.
- Schools «Q»: visibility on the EMCC Italy website through a dedicated and agreed page; a package of up to five (5) individual registrations; participation as speakers and presenters at the Toolbox (already Talk); participation as speakers and presenters at the webinars scheduled by EMCC Italy; the use of the membership logo and the logo of the EMCC Global qualification.
- Schools not falling into the two categories: a package of five (5) individual enrollments at subsidized conditions, without additional services.
- Organizations: visibility on the EMCC Italia website through a dedicated and agreed-upon page; a package of three (3) individual registrations; participation as speakers and presenters at the Toolbox (already Talk); participation as speakers and presenters at the scheduled webinars organized by EMCC Italia; the use of the affiliation logo, as stipulated.
As for the use of the logo, both the «Inscribed» Schools and the «Q» Schools and the Organizations may use the affiliation logo that attests their membership in EMCC Italia. The logo of the EMCC Global qualification, related to the qualified courses (EQA, ESQA, PMQA, TCQA), is reserved exclusively for the «Q» Schools, as provided in section 2.7. The Schools and the Organizations are given visibility on the website through a dedicated and agreed upon page, which enhances their identity and the type of affiliation.
5.3 Transitional period
To the «Enrolled» Schools that, at the time of publication of the’Annex B, If they are not in compliance with the requirements (for example, due to the lack of EIA Senior Practitioner and Practitioner Trainers), they are given one year to comply. At the end of the transitional period, a thorough verification is carried out, resulting in the retention or loss of the status.
5.4 Webinars for Schools and Organizations
The webinars of the participating Schools and Organizations are governed by Annex A — Rules for the webinars of Schools and Organizations, which defines their format, duration, content, ethical compliance, eligibility requirements, booking procedures, deadlines, and technical requirements.
5.5 Periodic verification and criteria for maintaining the registration
EMCC Italia carries out a periodic verification of compliance with the rules and principles established by EMCC Global and the’Annex B. For Schools «Q», the verification is aimed at maintaining the qualification; for Schools «Iscritte», the verification is aimed at maintaining the admission requirements. The lack or failure to meet the required requirements results in the loss of status and the exclusion of the School or Organization from the dedicated section of the website.
PART 6 — Code of conduct and conflicts of interest
6.1 Code of Conduct for Volunteers, including persons who provide work in associative bodies
All volunteer members, including those who are part of the associative bodies or who hold positions approved by the Board of Directors, effectively represent the Association externally. In addition to being subject to the ethical and behavioral obligations signed by Members, they are called upon to represent a consistent example of the values of the association, serving as a model for other members, for those who might join, and for external individuals with whom they come into contact.
Membership in EMCC Italy constitutes a vehicle for professional qualification and demonstrates commitment to promoting high standards. This role can be made visible through the use of the Volunteer logo and the presence of the nominee on the EMCC Italy website. It is essential to maintain a clear distinction between the associative and professional or private contexts: information, data, or relationships acquired within the framework of EMCC Italy cannot be used for commercial purposes or to promote personal interests.
6.2 Management of conflict of interest
Volunteers are required to recognize, declare, and manage in a transparent and responsible manner any situations of conflict of interest, whether actual or potential, in accordance with the association’s ethical principles. Those who engage in volunteer activities consider with responsibility the impact of any association relationship on other professional relationships and discuss any potential conflict of interest with the Volunteer Committee and the Ethics Committee.
6.3 Reporting and management procedure
Any doubts or reports regarding the behavior of a volunteer are addressed and handled with care and confidentiality by the Volunteer Committee, in collaboration with the Ethics Committee, in accordance with the values of transparency, fairness, and care for the community.
PART 7 — Operational processes
7.1 Assembly — convening, participation and voting
The Assembly may meet in person or remotely, provided that the identity of those attending is verified and there is the possibility of communicating with each other. The convocations are notified in writing, via email or publication on the website, at least ten (10) days before the meeting.
Each associated person has one (1) vote per person and a maximum of two (2) votes per written, dated and signed delegation.
The voting may take place in person, remotely, in a hybrid mode (with the presence of those participating in person and those connected remotely), and in deferred mode. Digital tools and platforms deemed safe and suitable by the Board of Directors may be used for these purposes, provided that the identification of those voting and the correct expression of the vote are guaranteed. The Board of Directors shall determine from time to time the operational procedures and the time frame within which the voting remains open, which may be extended up to a maximum of three (3) days. By decision of the Board of Directors, voting by correspondence is permitted.
7.2 Meetings of the Governing Board
The meetings of the Board of Directors are held at least four (4) times a year, that is, whenever the Presidency or at least two members consider it necessary. They can take place in person or virtually, via teleconference, provided that all parties can communicate.
The notice of meeting is given to all members, personally or by e-mail, at least ten (10) days before the date set. For meetings where the presence is required, the notification is made at least sixty (60) days in advance. Before each meeting, each member may, in writing, cancel such meeting at least seven (7) days in advance; such cancellation is considered as a given notice.
The quorum is constituted by the majority of the members in office. The right to vote cannot be delegated; votes cast by electronic mail or via the web are considered valid. Decisions are taken by majority of the participants. In open voting, if there is a tie, the vote of the Chair or the Vice-Chair or the General Secretariat delegated to preside over the Council in the event of absence prevails; in secret voting, a tie is equivalent to rejection.
7.3 Management of volunteering — job posting, selection and trial period
The management of volunteer staff follows a standardized job posting process, governed by the Volunteers Committee (section 3.5) and overseen administratively by the Secretariat and Treasury Team (section 3.12.1). Each volunteer must sign the agreement and code of conduct prepared by EMCC Italia. A trial period of at least four (4) months is provided for, at the end of which, if it is positive, the confirmation is final.
