VALUES AND MISSION
The mission of Kingstown College is to contribute to the spread of knowledge, to offer training and continuous professional support to the coaching and mentoring community, in order to help their clients and organizations excel.
We believe that the coaching mindset is the key to improving the people and organizations for which they work. Turning the mirror to one’s own “I” to reflect on oneself is even more powerful if it takes place in a structured coaching-style dialogue. A coach who works with individual clients or as a leader in a company needs a support structure to continue to develop and grow. Our values are based on this approach and that is the contribution we wish to provide to our community of coaches.

How to become a Life Coach or an Executive Coach
Kingstown College, a school with international experience and twenty years of experience, offers training courses in coaching and mentoring. Specifically, for the Italian market it offers the Professional Diploma in Coaching and Mentoring (PDCM). It has trained more than 3000 students (from more than 25 nationalities) worldwide.
The courses are inspired by and utilize experiential learning with particular emphasis on personal and transpersonal growth. Before becoming a coach who can help others, the coach must learn to transform themselves. And it is precisely this style that is used at Kingstown College. We are convinced and aware that this is the most ethical and concrete way to become a coach.
The courses offered by Kingstown College are EMCC-qualified at the EIA Practitioner level.
The Professional Diploma in Coaching and Mentoring is structured and organized into 6 modules. During the course, students study, experiment, and learn about more than 25 different coaching models and tools: starting from different types of wheels (life, performance, skills, etc.), the GROW model, the PERMA model, the SOAR and the CIA, the autobiography, emotional intelligence, and many more. Furthermore, the importance of Mentoring as a methodology to be combined with Coaching in the courses that require it is introduced.
As a completion of the course, our students will participate in an observed coaching session, which will be recorded, in which they will be able to demonstrate the mastery and skills acquired, all in line with what is provided for by the EMCC code of ethics and the competency framework.
The teachers of Kingstown College have deep knowledge and proven experience in the coaching sector, both at the Italian and international level.
The Professional Diploma in Coaching and Mentoring is accredited by EMCC for an equivalent of 160 hours of training (including lectures, assignments, coaching sessions with other students and external clients). Upon completion of the course, you can also obtain the EIA qualification through Kingstown College.
Professional Diploma in Coaching and Mentoring
The Professional Diploma in Coaching and Mentoring is organized and structured into 6 modules, delivered in a “Live” format via zoom. The teaching methodology includes the presentation of the topics covered in the lesson, active discussions, coaching sessions (in pairs or in groups of three students with the addition of an observer) and questions and answers.
M1 – Fundamental coaching skills
Students will develop listening skills and how to structure questions (powerful and effective). They will begin to use tools such as GROW and the “Wheel”. The ICF and EMCC competencies will be introduced and we will clarify the fundamental differences between coaching, mentoring and other styles of intervention.
M2 – Understanding the person
Values, self-awareness, and transfer are important for coach and coachee. We will introduce appreciative inquiry, the SOAR model, and work on defining and clarifying goals within the context of the client.
M3 – The psychology of coaching
Students will be introduced to schools of thought and common terms in psychology. Particular attention will be paid to the importance of the developments in Positive Psychology, the concept of FLOW, and the approach to coaching based on strengths.
M4 – Coaching and mentoring in the workplace
In this module, common scenarios between coaching and mentoring will be explored, the importance of time management and decision making will be discussed, and the coaching team will be introduced along with managing stakeholders in the coaching/mentoring relationship.
M5 – Promoting change and managing conflict
Tools such as SCARF, TACT, and perspective shifting will be explored in this module. We will work on the importance of emotions, triggers, conflict styles, and patterns to understand how people process change.
M6 – Career Coaching and Wellness
The Life and Mental Coaches and Executive Coaches will benefit from tools focused on career planning and development. We will examine the challenges of well-being such as stress and burnout. We will introduce the supervision and the importance of the coach’s continuous development.
Professional Diploma in Team Coaching
The Professional Diploma in Team Coaching focuses on providing coaches and managers with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to work with a team. Building on the team coaching competencies of EMCC, we draw on the student’s existing capabilities in an individual context and move into team settings, exploring the additional competencies needed to work with one or more teams and support them in their internal and external dynamics.
